Lead React Native Engineer

Our customer Which? (which.co.uk) is the UK’s consumer champion. As an organisation they’re not for profit and all for protecting consumers – a powerful force for good, here to make life simpler, fairer and safer for everyone.

The mobile team is continuously developing and supporting their flagship mobile app built with React Native and available on the UK App stores.

​

As a lead engineer you will be leading a team with 4 React Native developers: Junior, Mid and 2 Seniors split between Bulgaria and the UK. You will also collaborate with the product organisation and help with product definition and user's requirements analysis.

Requirements

​

• Excellent TypeScript knowledge

• Excellent React-Native knowledge

• Experience with Redux state management

• Hands on experience in unit testing of mobile apps

• Know how of integrating native libraries within React Native apps

• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling

• Experience with CI/CD of mobile apps (fastlane, etc)

• Planning, designing and measuring the impact of new features and changes: consider cost vs. benefit

• Experience in an agile Product Development environment and how it adds value to an organisation

• Line management or mentoring of more junior team members

• Strong knowledge of application accessibility features

• Customer focused person who could drive product discovery

• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders

• Experience of Interviewing and hiring

​

• Experience developing native mobile applications for iOS or Android (huge benefit)

• Knowledge and skills in functional programming

• Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Webpack

• Prior experience as a technical product owner

• Familiarity with React Hooks
