Senior PHP (Laravel) Engineer

Partner you will be helping is Monizze, which is a fast growing Fintech in Belgium, active in the business of issuing social vouchers. Monizze aims to diversify its business by offering also other services to employers, with specific focus on the SME segment. For this Monizze has partnered with a leading social secretariat in Belgium, in order to offer a marketplace where employees can search, choose & select their flexible benefits (like bike, phone…) offered by their employer. Monizze needs to build this platform, which will form a bridge between the social secretariat (doing all loan administration) and merchant partners (offering specific products).

Responsibilities

​

• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP/VueJS code

• Ensure that all project work is reviewed and meets quality requirements

• Think outside the box 

• Identify workarounds to achieve goals

• In charge of optimizing application for maximum speed and scalability by ensuring they are maintained and documented

• Work as a team player in an agile team with 2 weeks sprint

• Review the work of colleagues through pull requests

Requirements

​

• Experience with PHP and VueJS application development

• Experience with unit testing and regression testing

• Good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3

• Experience with at least one CSS framework

• Familiar with versioning tools (GIT, Gitlab or bitbucket)

• Able to use day to day tools like git, composer, REST, json, postman, mysql/mariadb, docker

• Self-starter mentality and good communication skills

• Organized and highly technical, attention to detail

• Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently while focusing on project details, timely delivery, and system quality

• Authentically curious, loving learning and improving

• Eager to help out others and share knowledge

Bonus points

​

• Worked as a developer in the Financial sector (e.g. particular payments)

• Experience in Laravel framework

• Understanding of design patterns

• Has worked with Agile & ScrumWise

• Knowledge in Bulma CSS

• Knowledge in AWS

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm
