Senior Backend Engineer with NodeJS

The German startup we are working with wants us to build a next generation API intended to provide purchase financing to a customer on their platform the so called Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solution. It is a complete B2B platform enabling merchants to acquire credit for their customers.

Our team will be building the MVP of the API with modules for Eligibility Check, Financing Application and Checkout.

As an engineer you will be part of a team with Senior Product Owner, another 3 Mid and Senior level NodeJS and ReactJS developers and an Automation QA.

Requirements

​

• Excellent JavaScript and TypeScript knowledge

• Excellent NodeJS knowledge

• Experience designing and building Microservices-based backend applications

• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling

• Understanding of scalability and performance aspects of web based systems

• REST API designing and building experience

• Basic knowledge of the services of any of the major clouds: AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean, Heroku

• Experience in setting up CI/CD for NodeJS

• Excellent understanding and experience using SQL and No-SQL databases

• Superb teamwork skills

• Experience working in agile setup

• Good communication skills

• Knowledge and skills in functional programming

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React

• Knowledge in other back-end development environments – Ruby on Rails, Python, Go, or anything else really
