Our Story

Friends first, company second

Stefan and David started Looming Tech almost 7 years ago — two thousand kilometres apart, but always in the same room when it mattered. One in Sofia, one in London, connected by a shared conviction that building great software starts with building real trust. Everything that has been built has been built as "friends first." The values of our mission were set at the beginning — and they haven't changed.

We founded Looming Tech believing that great software comes from ownership, not process. We started where the problems were hardest and the stakes were highest — working with startups and scale-ups who needed to ship fast, iterate constantly, and build products that users actually loved.

Our early clients were founders with ambitious ideas and tight runways. We became their engineering teams. We didn't just write code — we helped shape products, made architectural decisions, and stayed through the messy middle where most agencies disappear. From fintech MVPs to healthtech platforms, from travel APIs to IoT energy systems — we built products end-to-end and took pride in every one of them.

We started as friends but either way we must be friends — otherwise the journey won't end well. Typically we start as friends with our clients too, and that's how we've built partnerships that last 5 years and counting.

Enterprises need builders, not consultants

As our reputation grew, something unexpected happened. Enterprise clients started reaching out — not because they wanted a traditional outsourcing vendor, but because they'd heard how we worked. They were tired of consultancies that delivered slide decks instead of software. They wanted teams that could actually build things.

We realised that the problem-solving mindset and get-it-done attitude our engineers brought to startups was exactly what large organisations needed. The same engineers who could ship an MVP in 4 months could also modernise a legacy payment system, build an enterprise data platform, or deploy AI in a regulated environment — but faster and with less friction than traditional enterprise vendors.

Enterprises didn't need more process. They needed to rewire from within — to think and build like product companies while operating at enterprise scale.

More than a company

Over the years we've sat around campfires and walked up mountain trails, formulating who we are and what we stand for. This was never a top-down manifesto — it's "everyone in." We brought our team together in the mountains, the countryside, and by the Black Sea. We discussed our impact on the environments we met in. We forged relationships with impact teachers, beekeepers, and revolutionaries.

We haven't shied away from the more complex subjects — mental health in a pandemic-hit young workforce, the refugee crisis sweeping through Bulgaria and neighbouring countries. We hold that technology is a way to help solve problems, and we value that Looming Tech is a home for ideas and solutions that can improve our lives and those of our friends and community.

We always ensure that over one third of the projects we work on are highlighted as "non-profit." If we can work collaboratively to make any profit from the release of an app or product, those profits are earmarked for redistribution to our partners and future investment in tech projects that matter.

Becoming part of Eastvantage Group

In 2026, we became part of Eastvantage Group — a global provider of technology-enabled business services with operations across the Philippines, India, Bulgaria, and beyond. The partnership was deliberate: Eastvantage brought global delivery scale, enterprise client relationships, and operational maturity. We brought deep software engineering, practical AI expertise, and a product-first engineering culture.

Together, we're building something neither could build alone. Looming Tech is now the technology arm of Eastvantage — focused on helping enterprises and ambitious scale-ups with Applied AI, digital transformation, and navigating the complexity of big data. We bring the startup speed they need and the engineering depth they trust.
